The transition to Secondary School
At the age of 11, pupils, if they live in the Glantaf catchment area, will move to Ysgol Gyfun Glantaf.
There is a close relationship between the two schools and there is an opportunity for Year 6 pupils to visit the secondary school once a term before they begin there. During the year, the Head of Year 7 and Glantaf’s Headteacher will visit Dosbarth Betty Campbell with former pupils to discuss all things regarding life in the Secondary School.
Members of staff from both schools meet to assess and moderate pupils work, discuss all of our learners’ needs and attend Inset Training Sessions. This ensures effective transition and consistency across both schools.
