Our class has been named after Barti Ddu.

Bartholomew Roberts from Newport in Pembrokeshire was an infamous pirate who sailed the Caribbean and West Africa between 1719 and 1722. He succeeded in capturing 470 ships during his career and it is said that he managed to steal gold that was worth up to £50 million! Some believe that Barti Ddu was the first to use the famous skull and bones flag that is associated with pirates.
